Verburgt Brings Twenty-Five Years of Pharmaceutical Outsourcing Experience to Rapidly Expanding Pharmaceutical Development Business

SAN DIEGO, Calif. - April 11, 2007 - Pharmatek Laboratories, Inc. - a premier pharmaceutical
chemistry development organization supporting the pharmaceutical industry - today announced the
appointment of Yvonne Verburgt to the position of senior director, business development. This follows
the company's recent announcement of the opening of its new facility in March 2007. Verburgt has
worked in business development and sales for contract research organizations and biotechnology
companies for more than twenty-five years.

president of Pharmatek. "Her extensive experience as a proven sales representative in the pharmaceutical
development outsourcing industry positions Yvonne to make significant contributions to Pharmatek as we

Verburgt joins Pharmatek from Patheon, where she held several posts, including director of North
American Pharmaceutical Development Services Sales, senior business manager, and business
development manager of west coast sales. As director of North American Sales at Patheon, Verburgt
managed a sales team responsible for selling Patheon product development services to pharmaceutical
and biotechnology companies. Prior to joining Patheon, Verburgt worked in sales and sales management
for such companies as Oread, Inc., Becton Dickinson, Behring Diagnostics, and Johnson & Johnson.
